Beginning Monday, June 22nd, the Warrenton Community Library will close as the library moves to its new location right across the street!
As our library and community have continued to grow we have outgrown our leased space, so we are moving to a permanent City-owned space that will allow us to better serve our community. Our new space at 147 S. Main Ave will provide room to grow for our physical collections, private study areas for patrons to work, and a private conference room.
The library will be closed during the move to give our staff time to move our collections, renovate and set up the new space, and plan for new programming. We will be closed a minimum of 6 weeks beginning June 22nd, and will reopen at 10:00am on Tuesday, September 29th. The library will continue to keep our community informed as we navigate our move.
We are deeply grateful to the Urban Renewal Agency, The Urban Advisory Committee, the City of Warrenton, and our patrons and community for supporting us in this move.

What to Know!
When is the last day the library will be open?
The library’s final day of operations before our move will be Saturday, June 20th. Play and Learn’s final session in this space will be Monday, June 22.
How long will the library be closed for? When are you planning to reopen?
The library will be reopening at 10:00am on Tuesday, September 22nd.
How much bigger is the new space?
Our new library building will provide approximately 4,500 square feet of space- our current building is approximately 2,700 square feet. The additional space will have a reservable private room for quiet studying and video calls, a dedicated reservable meeting room space, a dedicated play and programming space for children, a dedicated computer room, and space for our collection to continue to grow!
What should I do with Warrenton materials that were due when the library is closed?
Please hold onto your Warrenton Community Library materials, or return them to the Seaside and Astoria libraries. Call the library at (503) 861-8156 to renew items that are due during our closure window. The library voicemail is checked Tuesdays through Fridays, voicemails left will be responded to during those days.
What do I do about fees and fines that occurred during the closure?
Fees and fines that occurred due to the library closure (late fees, lost item charges, and card renewal fees) will be waived during the month of October 2026.
Patrons are still responsible for damaged item fees and fines that occurred before the closure, and may speak to library staff about resolving them either in person during library hours, over the phone at (503) 861-8156, or through email (warrentoncl@gmail.com)
