Summer Reading 2026 - Plant a Seed, Read!

Plant a Seed, Read is rooted in the concept of farm-to-table. A farm grows food that nourishes our bodies; a library grows ideas that nourish our minds. Both food and stories connect us to our family, culture, economy, and ecology. iREAD 2026: Plant a Seed, Read will provide a context for exploring culture, history, science, health, and human connection. [iRead, 2026]

Summer Reading is here at the Warrenton Community Library! Here's some information about how it works, how to sign up, and how to keep track of your minutes to win free books and be entered in to win cool prizes!

Summer Reading for All Ages!

No matter your age, there’s a place for you in this year’s summer reading adventure! From newborns to adults, everyone can log their reading minutes to earn entries for exciting monthly prize drawings. ("Time Spent Reading" for all age ranges includes: Being read to, reading silently, reading out loud, audiobooks, magazines, comic books, and graphic novels.)

  • Ages Birth–6: Track time spent reading together or out loud—yes, even babies can participate!

  • Ages 8–11: Log every minute of independent or shared reading to stay on track and win cool prizes.

  • Teens (12–16): Whether it's novels, manga, or audiobooks, every 300 minutes gets you a chance to win.

  • Adults (16+): Summer reading isn’t just for kids! Kick back with a good book and log your time to enter monthly drawings for themed gift baskets.
